Later this evening, the playlist for todays broadcast will come out and if there aren’t any technical issues, a stream of the broadcast will be available. After today, streams are going away and the shortwave broadcasts will be just that, actual broadcasts. When I started broadcasting my friend Debi suggested I stream as well. It was easier to raise money for the show if people in Memphis could hear it. But the truth is, Memphis Weirdos isn’t produced for a Memphis audience, it is produced for an international audience via shortwave radio. So, I am returning to shortwave only, after today. When time permits, I will get back to the podcasts, which will be streamed. And I’ve got some great guests lined up for that.

Pilot episode.
I think this will be a regular thing and I will change the name of it to Libertyland.
Editor note- I misnamed Little Baby Tendencies name as Bad Things. The album is titled Bad Things. I played Give Me Ur Coat. -
A conversation with Lorette Velvette
It is impossible to offer an accurate view of Memphis music without including Lorette Velvette. Reared in Savannah, Tennessee, she migrated to Memphis as a teen and quickly found her way into the local underground arts scene. Her first performance was playing alongside blues legend, She-Wolf Jessie Mae Hemphill. Listen in as we talk about that and more on this episode of Memphis Weirdos.
