About

Bill Webb, Jr. is a fifth-generation independent Memphis local historian, street photographer, and broadcaster deeply rooted in the Mid-South’s rich subcultures, underground lore, and creative arts.

He is the creator and host of Memphis Weirdos—a popular weekly shortwave radio show, podcast, and digital archive dedicated to documenting Memphis underground history, garage punk music roots, obscure local legends, and forgotten historical figures.

As an independent researcher and guide, Bill curates authentic Memphis history walking tours, bringing unvarnished regional heritage to life across historic neighborhoods like Victorian Village.

Beyond broadcasting and historic preservation, Bill heads Thrift Tone, a multimedia company and independent record label producing physical vinyl releases. He is also an active Memphis street photographer specializing in black-and-white, portrait, and architectural photography, plays in the local band Turnt, and serves as an active community heritage volunteer.
